1).PLAN AHEAD WHENEVER POSSIBLE..
Keep a family calender and up-date
it frequently.
making sure it shows the dates of all family
events such as
family outings and vacations,
as well as children's plays, sporting events and
birthdays..
2).PRIORITIZE YOUR ACTIVITIES..
Mkae a list of the activities that demand
your timeand rank
each one in orderof its importance..Always ask yourself,
"How important is this task or event ?, is there a way to eliminate
this
activity or cut down the time it will thke to accomplish it ? "
For instance,
can you buy a cake for your son's birthday party instead of baking one.
Avoid
wasting your time on trivial activities.
3).SET LIMITS..
Limit the number of activities and responsibilities
you take on.
There are only so many hours in the day and you're only one person..
Ask
for help..Share household responsibilities with your spouse and / or children..
4). IDENTIFY SHORT- AND LONG-TERM GOALS
AND WORK TOWARDS THEM
By
setting short- and lont-term goals for your career and your family
you give yourself
a way to check the balance between both your lives.
For example, if you're not
achieving the goals you've set for your family
life you may be spending too much
time on your career
and an adjustment may be necessary.
5). FIND TIME FOR YOUR FAMILY.
Dedicate some time each day to spend
just with yur family
with no interruptions and plan special family outings and
holiday getaways as often as you can.
6). MAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF.
Set aside a little time each day
to
spend doing something just for you.
Read a book, take a bubblebath or a long
walk..
You owe it to yourself and your family to take care of your inner self..
The
rest will come easy..
